Bandage is used as traditional wound care. A surgical dressing bandage can provide a reliable fixture for dressings and infusion. It also gives protection and improvement of circulation. We can provide different types of wound care bandages and tapes for different applications, such as non-woven cohesive bandages, first aid bandages, triangle bandages, zinc oxide adhesive plaster, compress bandages, silk tape, stretchy bandage tape, cotton elastic bandages, soft roll bandage and foam bandages. It requires specialized training and expertise to use bandages for wound care. The following information will give more about the various types of bandage usage that medical professionals always have on hand to use for wound care.
Make sure the person is in a comfortable position.
Support the injured part before using the bandage.
Start from the the side of injury and apply the bandage, not too loose or too tight.
Fingers and toes be left exposed for circulation checking.
Adopt spiral turn for the limb, inside to outside bandaging.
Secure the bandage with pins or tapes for roller bandages.
Tie in a reef knot if it' s a triangular bandage.
Five seconds' press on fingers or toes to check circulation.
More often, when a bandage is visibly soiled, you should consider removing and changing it, unless your are instructed by the surgeon not to do so. Before removing, washing your hands thoroughly to prevent further infection. After this you can start removing the bandage from the wound. It is important not to pull the bandage directly from your skin, as it is more likely to inflict pain. Avoid doing this, you will feel less pain and the whole process will be gentler.
